New House - Picture Heavy!

 dining room
front door with a large coat closet :)
living room - sorry about the wonky pic!
kitchen - check out our classy mismatched appliances - we have all 3 major colors!  :P

I got my coveted white cabinets...but they need a facelift
the pantry is pretty cool - it has these shelves that swivel out so you can reach the back

 breakfast nook

 view from the kitchen sink
 family room
back hall off the family room - heading to main bath and Jon's office on right, garage straight, and basement and laundry on left
main floor bath - love the beadboard and white cabs...not so much the counters and shower door

laundry room - nice space and utility sink.  I invision a fun aqua color in here, and eventually maybe a countertop by the sink.
 Jon's office
 closeup of his wallpaper  :)
extra cabinet nook between the family room and kitchen - I'm thinking mail sorting/charging station?
 Jon's 3-car garage
 arbor on the side yard
upstairs hallway - those cabs are the linen "closet"
Jack's bathroom (well, the bath for all 3 non-master bedrooms upstairs).  Why yes, that is a pink countertop.  :)  Big plans for in here, eventually...after we get the more pressing issues done.
Probably Jack's room.  This is the window that almost fell on our inspector when he un-latched it.  Apparantly the latch is what's holding it in place.  Lovely.  Windows moved up the priority list.
Smallest bedroom - probably craft room.  (Apparantly blogger ate my other picture - there is a 4th upstairs bedroom that we'll use as a guest room.  It looks about the same - white walls, wooden trim, closet, window).
 Master bedroom

 Master bath
 Master closet (apparently cedar?)
View from master window of our backyard

 Stairs down to the basement
 Basement - future playroom
Love the beadboard!  It makes up for the wallpaper that I will be pulling down eventually.  :)  I'm thinking either springy green or a navy blue for the upper part of the walls.  I think the white beadboard will be enough light to allow a darker upper color?  We'll see.
Unfinished storage in the basement.  It's got plumbing roughed in, so we could do a half bath down here at some point.
Backyard - it's a full 1/4 acre lot, which we're super excited about, with lots of mature plantings.  (Tough to come by in our area.)

Oh, here's the guest room.  No idea how it ended up down here!  :)

Snow, salmon, and another house offer

Snow from last week - spring snow is nice when the streets/sidewalks are too warm for the snow to stick.  :)

Yes, Jack is eating off of my plate.  He LOVES salmon, and decided to come over and eat mine too.  :)  He's pretty good with utensils now, but still prefers his "little fork" - the toddler kind.
So the last house we put an offer on, had offers (including ours) for over asking price.  They decided to go for a bidding war, and we decided to back out.  We loved the neighborhood, but the hosue itself was about an 8/10 as far as what we really wanted.

So yesterday we looked at another house that was just a bit above what we were looking to spend.  There were only exterior pictures on the MLS, so I was hoping that the interior might need some work and make the price negotiable.

And the interior does need some work - lots of cosmetic projects.  If we got this house, Jack would be using a bathroom with a pink countertop for a while.  :)  But the layout is great, the rooms are good-sized, and it has pretty much everything we're looking for.  Plus a 1/4 acre with a great backyard and mature trees (hard to find here), a 3 car garage, and a great neighborhood which goes to the elementary school where Jack is currently attending preschool.  So we made an offer for quite a bit below asking price...and now we wait.

April Photo Dump

Grammie and Jack, back before the snow took out our daffodils and hyacinths!
The night before our blizzard, I cut the daffodils for our bathroom.
And also these unknown pink-flowered branches.

There were tons of birds out, all congregating on the street and sidewalks.
Jack doesn't like the snow blowing in his face!
 Yeah, the blizzard that wasn't.
 It was cold though!
 Jack's school has it's own snowplow.  :)
 And mountain views.
Jack loved his "M Chickens" that he got for Easter - he thought the M&M's dressed as bunnies on the package looked like chickens.  Too cute to correct.  :)
We bought 2 carloads full of boxes on Craigs List to prep for the move (this was before we knew that our first offer on a house fell through).

 And more April snow.

I did a bit of bathroom updating - new picture, new mirror, spackling and touch-up painting.
My work surface, aka our bathroom counter.
