We bought a house!!! I feel like that sentence could be my entire post, but I suppose you would like more details.Jon and I had been planning to become a part of the homeowner society at some point in the future, but when we saw the rent increase at our apartment ($400 a month!!!) we had extra incentive. Jon has been doing work for an Aggie realty group for the past few months, so we found ourselves an Aggie realtor here in Denver. He and Jon looked at about 20 houses in one day, and we quickly decided on one. Strange that it takes me forever to pick a dish at a restaurant, but we had no problem deciding on a house in a couple of days!
Our new house is 2 stories, has 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, 2 living areas, plus an unfinished basement. It's definitely smaller (1400ish sq feet plus 420 sq ft basement) and more expensive than Texas standards, but it's in a great neighborhood and we love it! It even has a small backyard with a deck and rosebushes (that are now covered in several feet of snow) and the kitchen has an island! We can't wait to move in!!
